John “Jeff” Creighton received both his BA and MA from Eastern Washington University in American History, with a sub-field in Native American Studies. Jeff spent 12 years with the Washington State Archives, Eastern Region. From 2003 to 2010, he served as Assistant Regional Archivist for eleven eastern Washington counties. From 1999 to present, Jeff has worked in the cultural resource field, working for various firms in Washington, Idaho, California and Nevada. His experience includes historical context development, architectural history, HABS/HAER documentation, property inventory, and nominations to the National Registry of Historic Places (NRHP).
Jeff has also been published in both book and journal formats on such diverse topics from logging and mechanized farming, to cultural topics such as his most recent publication, Indian Summers (WSU Press, 2000) documenting the Nespelam Art Colony on the reservation of the Colville Confederated Tribes in north-central Washington.
