This proposed project is the construction of a 120-foot self support lattice communication tower and the installation of the associated equipment. The Project Area covered less than 1.0 acre and overlooked the town of Juliaetta. The facility will be located within a 100-x-100-foot fenced area. Power will be supplied via an existing overhead power route.
Pre-field research consisted of a file search at the Idaho State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) in Boise, Idaho. This research included the identification of known archaeological resources and of previous cultural resource management projects within a 1.0-mile radius of the Project Area. This search allows for the identification of previously recorded historic and archaeological resources within or near the project’s Area of Potentially Effect (APE). This search revealed no previously recorded archaeological resources within 0.5 mi (0.8 km) of the Project Area.
The pedestrian survey conducted for the Juliaetta Communication Tower resulted in no newly recorded cultural resources in the Project Area, and no propertities listed on the National Register of Historic Places are located within 0.5 mi (0.8 km) in the direct or visual APE of the proposed communication tower. The project will result in No Historic Properties Effected. No further archaeological investigations are recommended prior to execution of this project.
