Emily L. Whistler, Ph.D candidate, is working towards completing her dissertation at WSU looking at faunal assemblages in Western Washington. Her research focus was on human habitat usage and intensification on the Pacific Northwest Coast. Emily obtained her Masters of Arts in Anthropology in 2015 from California State University, Los Angeles. There she focused on the historical ecology of human- bird interactions in the Channel Islands and the mainland coast of Southern California. Emily started at Plateau Archaeological Investigations in January 2020. During her time as a Field Archaeologist at Plateau, Emily has been involved in several field projects throughout eastern Washington.
