The City of Airway Heights has received funding from the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board Sidewalk Project program to help build a path to extend pedestrian access to commercial areas. The route of the proposed path lies on the north side of State Route 2 and stretches 5,400 feet from South Garfield Road on the west to a location east of South Hazelwood Road, covering 13.7 acres.
Plateau Archaeological Investigations completed background review and cultural resource survey. There are no previously recorded cultural resources located within the APE. No new cultural resources were located during the pedestrian survey or subsurface probing. The project will result in No Historic Properties Affected and no further cultural resource work is recommended.
