Verizon Wireless proposes to lease a 50-x-50-foot area on a host parcel in Sunnyside, Washington and construct a 100-foot monopole communication tower. The installation will include the necessary telecom equipment, and the facility will occupy less than 1.0 acre.
Background research indicated the proposed undertaking was located in an area of high risk for encountering cultural resources. However, the area has been highly disturbed by modern development (i.e., parking lot, road and railroad construction, underground utilities). No cultural material was observed during the pedestrian survey for the proposed communication tower, and no further archaeological investigations were recommended.
Location: Yakima County, Washington
