The Port of Quincy is proposing infrastructure development, known as the Port of Quincy Industrial Park No. 6, on a parcel of property located west of the City of Quincy. This project is partly funded by Washington State capital funds, and the managing agency must meet the requirements of Executive Order 05-05 and consider the potential impacts to historic properties prior to project execution.
Background research revealed no previously recorded archaeological sites or cultural resource surveys in or near the 96-acre project area. The terrain is relatively flat agricultural fields, and has been farmed since at least the 1960s. No Native American cultural materials or features were observed during the pedestrian survey or excavation of 191 auger probes. No further archaeological investigations are recommended prior to, or during, execution of the industrial park development.
