A cultural resources survey prior to proposed improvements at the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport Improvement Project was completed by Plateau. The survey covered 560 acres, and resulted in the recordation of a historic-era artifact scatter. Subsurface investigations were minimal and did not reach below the Holocene-age (potentially cultural bearing) soil deposits and Plateau recommended archaeological monitoring of any geotechnical investigations. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the funding agency, had to meet requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and consider the potential impacts to historic properties pursuant to the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA).
