The Coulee Community Hospital proposed to build a replacement hospital facility adjacent to the existing hospital on the western portion of currently owned, and undeveloped property. The footprint of the new building and associated infrastructure will occupy 9.2 acres. While the location had been previously disturbed, Plateau was commissioned to conduct background and field research to determine whether any historic properties would be impacted. The pedestrian survey and limited shovel probe investigations provided no evidence of Native American or historic-era cultural materials or features.
