The proposed reconstruction and widening of 0.75 miles of Fishhook Park Road prompted a cultural resource survey by Plateau in 2011. The road project was funded through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Highways and Local Programs Division assisted on behalf of the FHWA. As this was a federally funded project, the potential impacts to historic properties had to be considered prior to implementation, as per Section 106 of the NHPA.
